Ray,
Do you plan to hand hold these 15/20X60s or do you intend to mount them? Many people would want to mount 15/20X binos. And if you are going to use a tripod anyway why not spend $40-90 extra and get the 15X70 or the 20X80 LW?
My analysis based on the Oberwerk specs:
15X60s, 4.1 deg FOV, 12mm eye relief,
20X60s, 3.0 deg FOV, 10mm eye relief.
15X70s 4.3 deg FOV, 16mm eye relief.
20X80LW 3.5 deg FOV 13mm eye relief.
15X70s have wider FOV, 4mm longer eye relief and collects 36% more light compared to the 15X60.
20X80LW have 0.5 deg wider FOV, 3mm longer eye relief and 77% more light collecting area than the 20X60s.
I have the Oberwerk 12X60s. Optics:~9/10. Mechanical 8/10, value 10/10. I like the wide 5.7 deg FOV of the 12X60 but would go for 70/80 mm size if I want higher power models.

I'm relatively new to astronomy. I purchased my first pair of binos about 2 weeks ago. I chose the Oberwerk 20X80 LW for my first pair and I am extremely happy with them! They are under $200.00 and if you shop at Opticsplanet, http://www.opticsplanet.com/ they offer free shipping. These binos are only 3 lbs 6 oz.
You may want to look at this review http://www.cloudynights.com/breviews/oberwerk20x80.htm. I did, and it help steer me towards my purchase.
I was out in our 16 degree temps this evening and had some very nice views of the Orion Nebula, Moon and Saturn. I could see the rings around saturn but that was about it.
I hope this helps!
Clear skies

I would suspect they are nearly as high in quality as the popular 15x70mm. The only place that doesn't look as good is the field of view; they have a 60 degree apparent field of view (I think, I didn't check). This is very good, and I would assume the field sharpness is very close to all of their binoculars, but it's still less than the others. I also agree that there are better binoculars from the same company, and you should look into them, unless you have a specific reason for wanting these.

I have the Burgess 20X80 LW brand of this model. Purchased them in Feb 2003(before 80 LW was available from Oberwerk). I don't know if the Oberwerk LW indeed have broadband FMC (and the Burgess does not) to justify the $50 higher price. I read and hear confilicting info from different sources. I do know Oberwerk is much more reliable with shipping dates and will remove a model from their web site instead of leaving it on indefinite "Back Order".
Anyway, I am very impressed with the quality and LW of the Burgess model considering the $149 asking price. They are my most used astro binos during the past year. I have four pairs of astro bino ranging from 12X60 to 25X100 but I usually find myself using the 20X80 LW on every clear night. Edge sharpness is much better than my $400 Orion 20X80 and the weight is ~2 lb less! I also find wider FOV and longer eye relief of the Burgess 20X80 LW more comfortable to use than the ProOptics 25X100 with 2.6 deg FOV and 10 mm eye relief.
The FOV of the 80mm LW is listed as 3.5 deg which works out to be 70 deg APOV. My 12X60 Oberwerk wide angle has 68.4(12X5.7 deg) deg APOV and the 15X70 model has 64.5 deg APFOV. The Oberwerk 12X60 is a very fine bino for it's size but 8X higher power combined with 77% more light collecting area of the 20X80 show a lot more detail on DSOs from my mag 4.5 skies. I recommend anyone thinking of using 60 or 70mm binos with a mount to consider the 80mm LW also.

PS. The Oberwerk 20X80 STANDARD model has 3.5 deg FOV and longer(18mm) eye relief but it's slightly heavier at 4.5 lbs and several inches longer than the 80mm LW.
