60mm = 2.4", not 2.7".

Thanks for the review. I'm thinking about picking up a telescope from the SLT line in the next couple of months.

My experience with this set up is essentilly the same as yours. Accurate slews and very little CA for such a short focal ratio. I helped a lady learn to use her 102 refractor and wish now that I would have offered to buy it from her!

Thanks so much George. I was thinking about one of these for Christmas for myself and my kids, and I think you answered my questions. 5 stars my friend.

That was a good review. I just got the 80 gt and I too am impressed with the computer system used with these scopes. Once the alignment is done you can do the tour and it will slew to all the objects that are visible one at a time as you request it and they are always right there in the eyepiece when it stops slewing and starts tracking.

Hello,
Yesterday I had the opportunity to compare in a shop these two telescopes, and I noticed that the Nexstar 5SE had a much more robust mount and heavy, with the price difference .., was almost, almost twice as well!

Very helpful review. Any recommendations on two or three 2" eyepieces that would work well in this scope. Many seem to agree the stock eyepieces are a weak link.
