Thanks Tel but it was your suggestion. Now I need to try M 16, M 20 etc., and see how they fare.

Two really nice images Haseeb. The lagoon in particular is a beaut and no mistake. The range of colours are a joy.

Thanks for posting.

Regards. Peter.

This one with Canon 50mm Lens at F/4, piggybacked on C6-SGT. One minute x 20 exposures and to my delight captured the Milky way bulge too. There are atleast 16 DSO's on this image.

Hi Haseeb,

Another great image ! Congratulations !

Do you think this modification carried out in P/Shop using a newly acquired "Plug-in", (XiMagic), keeps the well reduced noise in your original image to a minimum while enhancing the field stars ?

Best regards,
Tel

Thanks Tel, it sure does. This plug-in can be acquired for PSP X4 too.

Hi Haseeb,

Yes, I think it works very well. I was only introduced to it myself quite recently by our mutual friend and colleague, Tom, (Haytor), and your Milky Way image seemed an ideal subject on which to try it out.

I'm sorry, but I haven't any idea whether XiMagic is functional with PSP X4. I can only recommend you download it and try it. It's freeware so nothing's lost in the process.

I thought at one time you were also using Photoshop Elements.(?) If so, I would imagine it might well be compatible with that.

Hoping it helps. Here's the link:

Haseeb, I don't do any AP. Although seeing the beautiful image you've captured certainly peaks my interest. Thanks.

David

Hi Haseeb,

when you download the Ximagic file, right click on the file and copy it, then go into your computer and find program files, then in program files, find your PSE9 folder, open that, then look for the plug ins folder, paste the copied file into there.

When you fire up PSE9 go to the filter tab and it should be at the bottom of the filters, it should show as Ximagic.

Once you see it there, you cannot use it until you load an image into PSE9, with that done, you should now be able to use the filter, when you hover your curser over the Ximage tab it should show another tab called xidenoiser, click on that and the denoiser screen will appear.

Thats how i did it anyway, works fine for me,hope that helps.

Regards,

Tom.

Sorry, Haseeb, I didn't think ! I too could have told you how to "do it" but ONLY because I'd previously enlisted Tom's invaluable help in doing so, when I also found myself in the same "Where did it go?" position as you. !

I hope it works and helps. I'm still getting to grips with it, but I think it's already proving to be a very powerful processing tool !

Best regards,
Tel

Go a shot of Plato's Crater tonight, about 1000 frames with the Neximage (wxAstro settings f/5 1/25) through Registax 6 and some Gimp.

Almost can make out the impacts within the Plato Crater, I'm going to shoot for those next time.

Hi Tim, that is a great image indeed. Well done. Did you barlow this? You could go deeper with a barlow on your 6se.
