Well done you guys for maintaining the standards we've come to expect of you.

Tom, A bubble worthy of anyone seeing the problems with conditions you had to overcome.

Andy, I share Tom's praise of your capture of M20. Outstanding image.

Thanks for posting.

Regards. Peter.

You all say such nice things that you can have another one to look at

Tried to get more data on M20 last night but it was gone too soon. Instead aimed a little higher and got the Eagle.

9 subs @ 5 mins each (3 x Ha, 3 x 03 and 3 x S2).

All the same equipment as my previous M20.

As they say in Cornwall Andy, "Proper job my handsome"(said of course in a Cornish accent) Lovely image and nicely sharp and detailed, nice one indeed.

best regards,

Tom.

Just about perfect! Thank you for sharing that capture. I'm looking at it on my wife's tablet and believe me I'll be back as soon as I get out to the observatory where the big screen is. Wow.
Be Well

Ah, I was right. What a joy to see in a larger screen.
Thanks again.

Thanks to you all again for your kind comments.

Even better I even got called handsome...

It has made a change to have a run of consecutive nights to practice and grab some images. I'm very tired but it was worth it. Sadly the conditions last night were not so good so I can't offer you a picture today. Fingers crossed it its better tonight.

So a big thanks to Tom, James, Peter, Grey and Tel for your comments and encouragement. Cheers!

Ooops. Therein lies the problem of listing people.

Sorry Mr Daddy. Thanks to you too. You'll have to forgive me, I've had a lot of late nights recently!!!

Tell you what, let me offer "Proper thanks my handsome"

Last night's results of NGC 281. Not sure if its a tad red but the Ha channel provided much more data.

Lum x 6 @ 2mins each
Ha, S2, O3 x 6 @ 10 mins each

Atik 428 through Williams Optics ZS70 with 0.8 reducer/flattener.

Also the South sky was remarkably clear earlier in the evening so I tried the Lagoon nebula. As with previous attempts in this region, the time window is very limited so I only managed 7 x 5m Ha subs.

Just wish it was a bit higher...

7 x 5m Ha subs

and the last one...

Once the Lagoon had gone, I moved up to the Omega nebula

"The Omega Nebula, also known as the Swan Nebula, Checkmark Nebula, Lobster Nebula, and the Horseshoe Nebula"

Again limited number of frames (2 x Ha, S2, O3 @ 10 mins)

I think I like it being the Lobster Nebula...

Fantastic images Bill. Wonder how the Z71 would perform without a FF. I have Z71 which I bought recently but yet to test it out though no FF.

Thanks Peter and Maverick.

Also thanks in advance to Celestron Daddy I know he hasn't said anything yet but I figure it might make up for missing him out last time.

Pretty sure the ZS70 is reasonable without the FF. Weather permitting tonight I'll give it a go. The worst thing for me has been the blue channel but dropping the Baader semi-apo filter into the image train has sorted that really well.

Thanks again.

Appreciate it though I notice you have ZS70 but I guess both scopes should be more or less same.

And it looks like I jumped the gun.

Wonderful set of images Andy. The "Lagoon" looks terrific despite the problems you encountered.

Regards. Peter.
