Great capture Tel! Wonder how those tadpoles will look in color.

Thanks Haseeb,

Yes, "in colour" remains to be seen.

I'm apparently to receive a filter wheel as a Christmas present so colour production from my Atik 314L should be available as of early next year !

Mind you, I could revert to the use of my DSLR for colour but at the moment, I'm still testing out the effects of this relatively new CCD camera and its combination with Ha.

I finally got around this evening to processing my image of the more mundane Caldwell 11, (The Bubble Nebula), which I captured while waiting for the "Tadpoles" to emerge from the northeastern horizon.

Here's the result.

The capture and processing conditions were identical to those applied to "The Tadpoles" (IC410).

Thank you for viewing.

Best regards,
Tel

Very nice work on the Tad`s and bubble nebulas Tel, , glad you were able to get out, it was clear here too, but my OH banned me from getting out due to my feeling under Par after catching a bug, bad timing or what!

best regards,

Tom.

Thank you, Haseeb. Unfortunately we only tend to get something like one good night or two per month but rarely together.

Three in a row and we are really on a bonus !

Best regards,
Tel

Hey guys,

Well, here is the RGB version of my M16 data. I switched to PI recently, and this has been my 'practice' data. So far, it's been difficult due to a complete lack of any real tutorials on the PI website; luckily there are members of that community that have done videos.. but most of the the solutions seem to be 'just try various settings' . It's all in one though; no more photoshop/DSS/MaximDL.

Oh, and the CGEM is up for sale. I bought an MI250 recently to get a little more stable platform. Should be fun

Enjoy!

Looking splendid, Chris, but excuse my ignorance:

What's "PI" ?

Best regards,
Tel

Oh, it's PixInsight. It's got a steep learning curve, but everything is tied into the program. I rather like it so far.. and, to be honest, it's cheaper than photoshop. I still have noisy pictures though...

If you go to my AB page for that picture, you can see the luminance image. Looks pretty good!

Yes of course it is, Chris ! Now you say, I've heard of it for sure but am otherwise unfamiliar with it.

Would you perhaps recommend it to our friend and colleague "Nomosnow" who's looking for some processing software ?

As to noisy images: take more "darks" perhaps ?

Best regards,
Tel
