Hmmm... if your addressing the (potential) St Elmo's fire, I have about a dozen videos showing the phenomenon and it shows numerous (what looks to be like), dancing fingers of electrical discharge, coming off the dome. Only occuring in the vicinity of a Thunderstorm and all happening very quickly and frequently. That was the second time that happened.
There are thunderstorms forecast for very late Wednesday and Thursday. It will be interesting to see if the phenomenon occurs a third time.

Time 082943UT
I was actually outside @ 1:30AM when this happened. There was a noise at first that sounded like a gunshot and then there was this super bright light/explosion in the sky to the North (the sound was probably the sonic boom from it flying from the south). It was foggy outside but the light from the explosion was easily picked up by the camera.

I am pretty sure it IS a firefly. Look at the irregular flight pattern, definitely not a satellite. Due to the mild winter I have noticed them coming out a month or so earlier than normal. I had them showing up on my camera back in late march. They are all over the yard here now.
Pretty sure it is a firefly.....

Just want to stick my hand up and say hi. I will be a new node in Franklin Texas #62 when I get all the kinks worked out. Want to shout out some thanks to Stuart (MrKrink) who has helped me resolve some software issues. I am set to do some live testing over the next couple of weeks and then take it live. I am looking forward to getting some fun captures like the rest of you.
I am getting to be a bit of an aficionado of all sky cams. I am also responsible for two others, both from Moonglow Technologies. I have one of those at my house and another at a friends darker sky site. The Moonglow unit is certainly easier to set up but hopefully this one is more sensitive and captures more data.
This is a great thread for the UNM All Sky Cam. Perhaps we should change the name?

I wasn't home for the peak of Perseids this year, but my camera was Here is a composite from 8/11. The very bright streak is the moon, the dim squiggles are insects and the full width lines are either aircraft or satellites. But there's still a lot of meteors too

Looking for advice to solve the "Creating Video Mixing Renderer 9 failed" condition for th NMSU WSentinel software.
Waited 3 months for the college IT Dept to delivered the spare computer, which they loaded with WinXP SP3.
The monitor is a DVI connection.
They installed Hauppauge video card and software, Rsync, SkySentinel (0.2.2), and WSentinel (v 1.1.19) I supplied them with instruction and node#.
First thing I notice, on board Network not availabe, a screen saver, and .Net 3.5 not installed.for monitor. All of which I highlighted in the documentation I handed to them and verbally informed. Good people, but busy and easly distracted.
Removed screen saver, added .NET 3.5 via USB memory stick, and found XP driver for the on board network.
Then I updated three years of XP SP3 updates.
First time connection the camera WSentinal pops up with the "Creating Video Mixing Renderer 9 failed" condition. Same for each of the 4 port connections.
I do get video from the camera using WinTV32 program and on "port closest to the motherboard."
Any thing else I can look into on this Labor Day weekend? I was realy hoping the install would aviod this error condition.

Happy to note I have fixed this problem.
Root cause was the compter original a Vista OS. When IT Dept loaded XP on the new drives they did not load the video driver for internal the card.
How could they, without a Network to get to the Internet?
I also added the drivers for the Acer 1917C LCD monitor and made sure I had all of the Directx 9.0 c updates.
Once all of these were in place Wsentinel started error free and the image from the camera is shown, using port cloest to motherboard.
Looking forward to discovering additional problems.

I am glad you solved your problem. This seems to be a common issue. I encountered the same problem and the same problem was posted on the UNM All Sky user group. In my case, the problem was related to a failure to install DirectX 9 when the video card was installed. This usually comes with most video drivers. To tell which version of Direct x you have installed type dxdiag at the run window and that will open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Under DirectX files you should find a series that list their version as Version 9.XX.XXXX.XXXX

I installed DirectX after the Win XP updates. The error with WSentenil still came up.
Using the dxdiag command is how I discovered the monitor was using Plug and Play drivers and the drivers for the DVI video card were not installed.
XP Device Manager showed this also, which I missed the first time I looked. Things became clear after a good nights rest.
Once they were in place the problem cleared up and WSentinel worked.
On my way to focus and install the camera on the building, if it does not rain.
