You need run under boot camp or parallels for now. A lot of users are running under parallels with no issues at all.

I like the feature that you have for the illuminated eyepiece for doing drift alignments. If I were to make a custom layer for measuring arcseconds, am I able to drop that in a program directory so I can use it too (provided I rename the image)?

If not, could I send it to you for use in a future release?

It's not an image, the reticule is drawn dynamically on-the-fly. I do have plans to offer a more precise measurement base on your optics eventually.

Thank you for your support,

Jim,

BYE does not do guiding, it does dithering.

This said you can't guide and image with the same camera. This is not possible with DSLRs.

You need a separate guide camera and either a guide scope or an off-axis guider hooked up to PHD. Once you have proper guiding then, and only then, can BYE do its magic and dither between each images.

Does this make sense?

Guylain

Yes it does make sense. I was confused between dithering and guiding. thanks for the clairification. maybe a glossary of terms would help for us newbe's.

There is a good explanation of dithering in the BYE user manual... but I'm no different than anybody else... I rarely read those manuals too

Thank you for your support.

Larry,

You trial key was sent July 20th. I remember the email exchange we had that day too.

If you're requesting another trial via the web site I won't get the trial request as you're already had a trial key, your subsequent request are swallowed by the spam control I have on the site.

Please send me a PM if you need 1:1 assistance.

Thank you

Guylain

Hi
I have a question regarding the software, Incase i purchase the software and then install the software in one PC, is it possible to install the software in another PC just incase i get another one after sometime. I will be using only one PC but however wanted to know if i need to pay for installing it in the new PC which i intend to buy sometime late?

thanks
Bharath

As per the end user license agreement you can install the software on more than one computer provided you only use one at a time.

I guess I should add that BackyardEOS v3 has been released last summer since this old v2 thread has been resurrected today

Regards,

Guylain
