Seeing was was variable but managed to get a small window of a good red channel and an average green. Blue was not as good as a couple of weeks ago but better than the hopeless mess one usually sees. The video streams were an odd mixture of some fairly good frames mixed in with some quite blurry ones. I spent more time processing this RGB set than ever before as a result. Interesting activity in the SEB but no major spots at this CM, except for the little pink one.

Captured with a Flea3 and FireCapture 2.

As always, thanks for looking and any questions or comments welcome.

Cheers,
Glenn

Sounds like my seeing to a tee - A mix of good & atrocious.

A lovely result though, Glenn!

I've been watching the Jet Stream. Its fringe is just over us. So, I think that's why it has been irratic, Glenn. But it didn't get in your way. Excellent!

Looks like you managed another excellent image Glenn! Down here in southern Az. seeing has been bad the past few days. Glad at least you managed a good one!

Thanks guys!

Frank you're correct the seeing has been awful lately. All over the continental US we have unsettled weather. The seasons have clearly changed and the birds have escaped south. My backyard looks like a scene from Hitchcock's "The Birds". Hopefully we will get a window of good seeing after these disturbances pass over and before the next sweeps by.

The biggest problem I had on this night was the amazing drop in temperature. Started out comfortable in a shirt and ended bundled up. I'm convinced the fan system I had running continuously from Deep Space Products helped mitigate the temp change and also allowed me to get a good collimation.

This season I have not had much luck with IR imaging of Jupiter, but this night I managed one decent IR sequence in a short period of semi-stability.

Regards,
Glenn

For me iR (and I employ the 742nM filter) is quite variable in its results from one night to the next Glenn.....I've had some cracker nights with it this apparition, but I tell you what, I'd swap all of 'em for one of the rgb's you've captured this year....!

Great shots Glenn! Seeing as how we are all pretty jetted out this is a great capture. I hope we all get some more good seeing before Jupiter starts to get lower.
