Thanks for the encouragement Kent, my wife actually told me to get some so I did

Lucky you. I suppose I am lucky too. We don't spend much money except on things we really want. We both spend very wisely and don't waste a cent.

At first, she saw me looking at meteorites online and she said don't buy some rocks. She was nice about it though. But once I told her how much they meant to me and how amazing they are, she gave me permission. She knows I make wise choices with my money.

I don't think she has any idea how much I have spent though and I can only think that at least they will go up in price. I don't plan on selling any anytime soon but if I had to I think I could get most of my money back and more and that makes me feel like I haven't really spent the money . Rationalizing my addiction, I know.

With meteorites and all my recent expensive astronomy equipment I think she knows it is a lot but I haven't given her an amount and when she asks we speak in terms of trips to Europe. We sent our son to Europe with a music group and that cost a lot. So my telescope costs over 2 trips to Europe. Wow!

Unfortunately my wife isn't too interested in rocks or the stars and sun but my 13 year old daughter is and I show her all my new rocks. She likes them and asks a lot of questions about them. I can't wait to show her the next one!

Stands and moving around. new [Re: hfjacinto]
      #6248567 - 12/12/13 09:15 AM

Seeing this thread made me spend some more money. I have several samples in Riker boxes but it was time to put the on display so I ordered some more display stands, new labels. I will be moving the sliced stonies out of boxes. I also got some free "meteorite jewelry" from a meteorite hunter as I'm a good customer. That was really nice. Need to get those in a presentation case. New pictures coming soon I promise. And new samples also

Now you may ask why do I need stands? Well I can't buy another cabinet so the stands let me get more meteorites
