Hi Dave,
The mount in the photo is the Canadian Telescopes Duo-T. I don't need to use an optional counterweight with this dual solar setup. The tripod is a CG5 tubular version with an Orion extension. I also have a Giro 3 DX that handles the same setup but I prefer the Duo-T.

Got my scope and fixed up the Unistar onto my Atlas legs. Love how it looks and moves. I don't have the center post or EP tray for the Atlas so it's no 100% solid but I'm looking around to get those items...I cant wait to get some clear skies to try my new toys and my new Sky Commander.

Steve, do you think that mount would handle the AR152 on one side and a stripped down Intes Micro M703 on the other side? Which Orion extention did you use as well.

I have used the Duo T with a 120ED F7.5 on one side and the 150 F5 on the other with binoviewers in each scope so I think you can get away with the refractor and the MCT. I use the Orion SVP extension and Celestron VSPs. There are two things that took some getting used to with this mount; one it's HEAVY, and two, the scope on the top mount often requires a step stool to look through the binoviewers.

Gosh, that big scope makes the Unistar Deluxe look like a Unistar Light! Very nice setup Pete.

Pete, is that a Vixen-style dovetail on your setup? If so, maybe if you switched to a D-plate (Losmandy) it would tighten things up a bit.

I got the Losmandy long universal vixen dovetail, LO-VUP. Was told by another experienced member here who has the scope that the stock ES dovetail is could be greatly improved for visual. Anyway my set is waiting to be shipped out, the ES100 14mm just came in to OPT.
---------------------------------------------------------
You shouldn't need anything else to bolt the Losmandy dovetail to the ES AR152 cradle (rings). It will attach with the two 1/4"-20 Allen screws that come with the telescope. The puny screws I refer to (there are actually four of them) are used in a push/pull arrangement that causes the extruded aluminum supplied dovetail to stand off about 1/8" from the tube cradle to provide for cone adjustment. Apparently the cone adjustment is for imagers that use a German equatorial mount to fine tune the declination of the scope tube to mount to be precisely at 90 degrees for tracking/imaging purposes. Since I am strictly a visual observer and am using my AR152 on an alt/az mount such minute adjustment is not important to me, but rock solid stability/no flex is. It is difficult to explain but once you get your telescope and see how the dovetail is attached to the tube cradle you'll know what I am referring to

Yep....that's the vixen that comes with the scope. I just threw it on as I couldn't wait to check it out. Will be looking for a Losmandy soon. Love the new dual (Vixen or Losmandy) jaw on the mount. Nice to be able to throw anything on there without worrying about changing out the 3" to 2" like I used to.

A Double star would handle that load out.... I have one and have carried an M703 and an MN71 simultaneously..... The 150 is quite a bit lighter than the MN71
