Wow, very interesting. I was not aware that direct-drive technology had been applied to telescope mounts. Does anyone know if there are similar products? As a beginner in astrophotography I would not make an investment of this magnitude, but I'll keep it in mind in case my interest (and bank account) grows.

Hello,
Amazing review on an amazing piece of equipment. Congratulations!
Too bad it costs on the north side of $15K.. 50% more than a 14" EdgeHD including CGEM-PRO mount and tripod! Way too rich for my blood. Let's hope direct drive technology gets picked up by other vendors and the price is driven down...
