And for REAL BEEF I also built a 12 inch model. Weighs less than fifty lbs just for fun. The tripod that I put it on has to match the mount. Remember, half the weight of aluminum. Anodizing not necessary. I hesitate to post a pic of that one for fear of causing computer melt downs due to the drool factor. Please, once again, I will NEVER make one of these to sell to anyone on the planet. It is for my personal use only.

Here are a couple of pictures of my new Meade Series 6000 ED130 APO that arrived today. It had some dust on the inside of the lens that needed to be blown off, otherwise is was perfect. I like that both the whole focuser rotates as well as the diagonal holder. No first light tonight. T storms rollin in.

3K..It comes with a hard case,99% diagonal, finder, bracket, rings, vixen dovetail, and a
Series 5000 25mm eyepiece. I need to change the dovetail. I was surprised to see the dust cap is metal and threads into the dew cap.

Edit: I just checked the forecast for tonight and it is supposed to be clear. There was some forest fires started in the area yesterday with the lightning and it has been very smokey here all day. See how it goes tonight.

I love the classic refractor appearance. It is beautiful. Congratulations on a real pretty telescope and I'm sure also provides stunning views. Regards, L.B.

Is the cap on the dew shield a screw-on cap or a slide-in cap or what?
Thank you.
