The cap is metal and screws into the dew cover. The dew cover slides back and forth with one screw to tighten against a band to hold it in position. Something like the brass ones in a eyepiece holder so it doesn't scratch the tube.
Edit: I noticed there are getting to be quite a few comments on the scope and I thought to help keep this a picture thread I would post the link to the thread I had started on this scope here

It's a beautiful scope. If I didn't already have another apo on order, I'd like to get one like yours. Congratulations! Let us know how you like optics.
After attending a recent star party at a dark site, I concluded that a 130mm-class apo is all the apo that I want.

Hi Super08, The scope is cool. 3K is a great price for the triplet with accessories.

It is a Tri36L tripod & a DM6 alt-az mount. I really like the tripod, light, sturdy & very short dampening time!

Testing out the new Orion guide scope on the ES127 that will replace my SV80ED (and thus save a lot of weight).

Mind if I ask how much the tripod and mount weight?

DM6 mount is about 16lbs, DM6 extension is 2lbs & tripod weighs no more than 10 lbs. I can move this setup w/o scope with ease although I have to collapse the tripod legs a bit to navigate without any problems while moving.

I don't do astro-imaging, so I can't relate to any of those electronic gizmos, but I do use the same type spiral cable wraps .
