My first post. I just came across this thread on the AP-UG, so here's my contribution:
TMB 175/1400
Takahashi FS-60C finder
Mounted on an AP1200GTO, and taken at the Rockland Astronomy Club's Summer Star Party in Savoy, MA, in 2011.

Finally got a little extra horsepower for Globulars and added an 8" SCT to my TSA. This dual scope and mount is still small and light enough to carry out just as is...keeping it at just a few minutes setup. Used SCTs are amazing...cost about the same as a new XW eyepiece!

Not sure if this counts for this forum but I just picked up one of these for nearly 1000k under list price. 85mm Diascope 20-75x. It was a floor model from Camera Land. I couldn't see a single fingerprint on it.

This is comparing the objective to 80mm Celestron and Canon 50mm binos.

So far I like it. A narrow FOV but the images appear razor sharp right up to the full zoom of 75x. I'm going to try it on the moon and a few fuzzies tonight.

Hi, Paul: Whoa! You've been notified for the AP175? Way cool! When is it due?
Did you notice that my scope was set up for white-light solar observing with the Herschel wedge?
Hope to see you at CSP in a couple of weeks!

Bob, that is BRILLIANT!
Now you have me noodling a similar pier with multiple top plates for different EQ and alt-az heads.

Jim, you should host a star party on your patio. It should be "The Most Interesting Star Party in the Univerese". All of the attendees will be in famous astronomer, scientist or favorite sci-fi character regalia.

the best of two worlds
i bring my sct out in a plastic box with foams so it cools down for one to two hours, it does the trick.

Here's a image of several APs (Mak-Cass, 155 f/7) and Zeiss 130 APQ at an exceptionally dark site.

No, oddly enough, in that picture, I'm on the right. With the tan I got this year, I might be hard to see.
