Welcome to the Cloudy Nights Reader’s Gallery Submission Forum. Each month, we ask Cloudy Nights members to submit their best DSO photos in this thread.


For your photo entries, please provide a description that includes:
Your First and Last Name;
Date of photo (can include the time);
Description (title) of the image;
Relevant photo information (exposure length and equipment used).

This is important! If you don't supply ALL information, we won't be able to use your photograph!!!!

Please note: due to copyright issues, all photos MUST be original (If they aren't then you will be banned from this section of the forum!).

To facilitate the judging we respectfully ask that you not enter comments in the photo thread. You will find a commentary thread for the DSO photo entries. Thanks and good luck!

Allright here's my contribution:
It's my first image of a deep sky object:
object: M13
photographer: Wouter D'hoye
Date: June 19'th 2005 OO:59 Local time
exposure: 10x15 seconds track and accumulate using an SBIG ST-7 on a 9OOmm focal legth apochromat at f/8.8
processing: Level and gamma adjust, curve adjust, unsharp mask, slight gaussian blur

Equipment used: Meade DSI (standard version), 10in LX200 in Alt/Az. F6.3 Focal Reducer. 17x15sec exposures. FITS combined in Autostar Suite. Levels adjusted in Photoshop. Noise reduced with NeatImage.

3 x 10 minute and 3 x 20 minute subs in Ha, and 5 x 3 minutes each of G and B. All taken unbinned with an Artemis ART285 camera through a TV76 at f5. Post processing in Photoshop CS.
