At some point before winter I need to retrieve our little tent trailer from the Goldendale property and I decided to do it this weekend. I'll go down Friday afternoon and return Saturday.

If that gives anyone "ideas," feel free to show up.

Very interesting photography of an area close to Table.

High resolution panorama of 7 fires taken on Badger Mountain of the Wenatchee Valley on 9/9/12.

Very interesting, Star Watch, I know both Jerry and Joe and have observed with them over the years. May be a nice alternative to Table as it looks grim for this coming summer.

Doing a quick check in to see how everybody is doing!! Hope everybody enjoyed a great summer. I was unable to attend the G-Dale party, but I enjoyed seeing the posts and photos of familiar faces. Business along with having a now 8 year old son who wants to do stuff all the time has put a chink in observing places other than in the immediate area. Hope everybody has great observing!! - Mark

My son has an assignment from the TAS student program to study Perseus. He also has to know how to spot it and learn objects that can be found in the constellation. Friday night Perseus was barely visible from out back yard in the glare of the moon, my neighbor's mercury vapor flood and some haze. School's taking up a lot of my time but on weekends I get to do a little image processing. This is what I came up with yesterday:

Wide field of M106 and a number of other galaxies captured with a Canon 350D and an SV85s from Camp Delaney, WA in the spring of 2011.

On a calibrated monitor the larger version on Flickr will show more faint fuzzies than the four obvious ones - M106(NGC 4258), NGC4217, NGC4220, NGC4248 (listed in order of decreasing size/brightness)
Larger version on Flickr

Very cool! I count at least a dozen galaxies for sure.

Well, i got out observing (outside Snohomish) last night for a few hours before the Moon rose at midnight. Not the absolute best viewing conditions, but i did manage to knock down another 26 Herschel400 faint fuzzies (a bunch of them were open clusters, which made things easier). Which brings me to 20% of the H400 list now. Making slow progress. Should take me about two years to finish the thing at my slow rate.

Going to try to get up a little early tomorrow morning to do some more lunar imaging. Fortunately these longer nights mean i don't have to get up way early anymore...

Wow Ajay, that is a great image. The bright stars almost have a depth to them, a third dimension. M106 has some amazing detail. I am on my phone now so I can only see 4 galaxies but, it is a nice image to see while i am at work. Thanks for posting the image.

Is there anywhere to go out this weekend? Somewhere away from weather and smoke. There have been a few steady looking mornings before work but, no observing has been happening in my world.

I'm glad you were able to make one last trip, Robert.

Sean, Bozeman is looking positive.
