Happy New Year, All!
Went to First Night in Tacoma with friends last night and had a terrific time. We had our caricatures drawn (three headed snake, in tune with Year of Snake theme); watched molten iron poured into molds; watched people actually standing in line for the privilege of walking barefoot through 25' of ice; finally saw the inside of the Pythian Temple; heard several varieties of music and saw a great peformance by the Mud Bay Jugglers. Best band of all I hadn't heard of before: Tubaluba, a New Orleans style brass band with powerhouse instrumental virtuosi and an unbelievable female vocalist. New Year came Dancin' in the Streets!
Was wired when I got home so stayed up 'til about 2:30, using binocs on the moon with moon map. What a blast!

One thing led to another and eventually resulted in my looking up moon phase information for the summer.
BE INFORMED, that I'll host a Pixieland star party the looong, moonless, freezeless, cloudless weekend that includes Fri - Sun., June 7 - 9.

From what I can gather, the Oregon SP and Table Mt SP will be on the same weekend in August, with no location set yet for Table Mt.
Looking forward to Pixieland in June.

I just came in from the cold also. Below freezing here, crunchy underfoot. Nice clear sky though, beautiful.

Ok, this weather around here is really making me mad!
Last few nights have been clear and cold (upper 20's) perfect for snow if there was just some precip...froze my butt off working outside today, head in the house and what do I hear?
RAIN come on, Rain?!!! We are at 500 ft. and its been below 32 all day and then it rains.
On a better note: since Mike is hosting June, I think I'll host week long events in March, April, May, July, August, and September. Of course they will all be fully catered and equipped with portable shower trailers as well.

While you're at it, could you get some vendors like Televue and Astro-Physics to show up and give away free samples of their products? Oh, and maybe a gratis performance by Cirque du Soleil and Vegas-style slots to keep us entertained in the daytime?

Trying hard to resist running with this and posting something inappropriate.

I don't think we should mention the four letter word beginning with "W" and ending in "ind" that provided so much amusement last year.
