Ok... so through all the doom and gloom of this horrible weather today/tonight, I took a shot.

Canon T1i with a 30 year old FD mount Promaster 60mm to 300mm macro lens @60mm.

So I reprocessed the Veil West images that I took an initial crack at a few weeks ago. I am happier with this new version.

Click on the images to see larger versions on Flickr. If you are on a desktop or a laptop, try full screen for best results.

Nice Ajay!

I'll have to revisit my "broom". I struggeld with it pretty good. Maybe a little more experience since then...

I like the last one. That is one bright star.

I got to get out with the new binos last night. I didn't realize how bad I suck at holding binoculars until last night. No IS to find the target, then hit IS and everything settles down and looks really good. I can't wait to have these in my lounge chair in goldendale.
Thanks again Mike and Jackie. I think these were the perfect fit.

Thanks for the links Stacy. I imagine the drive to the ranch must be somewhat saner than the steep narrow approach to the original TMSP.

Ajay

If you think the road to Table is steep and narrow you wouldn't like Slate Peak.. Table mountain is reminiscent of Interstate 5 in comparison

I think i'll stay away from there.
You want an adrenalin rush, go down the table mountain road in as a new driver in a heavily loaded 30 year old truck. I don't think I want to do it again.

The weather forecast is pretty positive for next weekend. I'd really like to go over to the Umtanum Creek site again and I'll make an effort to do it. More likely Saturday than Friday.

Wintergrass was a blast, with but one disappointment. I really like the new venue, at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue. The one disappointment was that Peter Rowan appeared simply as the guitar player in someone else's straight bluegrass band, instead of fronting his own band and playing his music; but that's a pretty small nit on a great afternoon & evening.

We moved about 11 units there. Higher end Eastman guitars and mandolins. Much better than last year.

How positive is the weather for that area? Clear and really cold or pretty cold?:-) I would like to go but, I'll have to wait and see because I have a lot of work at the moment.

Stacy, I didn't know your biz had a "presence" there. I hope you decided that the sales justified the expense. The music was fantastic.

Sean, I simply noticed in the weather box in the paper this morning that it's predicted to clear up Friday in Tacoma and stay that way Saturday. I figure good here means excellent there.

It's a new moon weekend.

And I forgot to mention: Costco-Tacoma has the good antigravity loungers in stock for, I'm pretty sure, $37. That's really a good price; I thought I was getting a steal when I bought mine there for $50.

Wow. I am going to have to pick one up for my wife. They only had the oversized ones left when I bought mine. She loves sitting in mine so that would be a nice surprise for her.

The weather forecast remains positive.

I proposed to Anne and to Maggie that we go over early Saturday in two cars. We could hike up the Umptanum Creek trail for a couple of miles then return. They could go home in Anne's car while I set up for astronomy.

Any of you guys got recommendations for stabilized binoculars? I seem to remember some discussion about them awhile back.
