Mary,I just ordered a pair of Fujinon 10x70's.I thought I could save a few $$ but the HB's just don't cut it...

I have a pair of the 10x70FMT-SX and I just adore them. I know many others prefer the 16x70's but I just love the wide fields with the 10x70's. I find them to be absolutely amazing and panning the Milky Way with them is nothing short of stunning. Please post when you receive them and how you like them!

Mary

I thought I might try these, but I see CA very readily in optics, so now I'm not sure.

Quote:

Received them today and they are on the way back. There is a lot of CA both in and out of focus on bright tree limbs, etc.,views were not at all acceptable to me,not very crisp in my opinion.I have looked thru other fujinon's the 10x50 SX-Mt to be specific, these HB's do not compare at all the 10x50's were worlds ahead in everyway....

Quote:

Mary, Don't despair: I bought two pair of the 10x60HB Fujinon & one pair of the 12x60HB from Eagle Optics and all three were perfect with optics that rival any alfa binocular you care to compare them to. The 10x60HB has an overall sharpness that extends farther out from the center than the 12x60HB but otherwise they are identical with extremely bright images, super sharp, no on axis chromatic aberation, and no reflection or other image imperfections. And I have directly compared them to my Nikon 12x50SE which only surpasses the Fujinon HB in edge sharpness. And the extra 10mm of aperture gives it a noticable advantage on dark night skies. I wonder if there were any naysayers when the Takahashi 22x60 Astonomer binoculars were being closed out at $895.00 when they had yet to establish themselves at their current elite status. Harold

Mine arrived this morning, very happy with them, collimation is fine, chro: abb: on tree branches, wires against a blue sky is there but its of a minute nature,I have to look for it to notice it, the focus is sharp crisp and clear, an oustanding value for the price, keepers for sure,Dave.

That is great news, Dave. I am very happy with mine except they brought cloudy weather ( although we need the rain). I am very surprised that I can steady them very well for brief handholding glimpses of birds( even better than the very light 10 x 35 EII Nikons!
I feel they wwere an outstanding buy at $299. I'd be less thrilled at the $1150 list.

One minor complaint, I guess the neck strap is designed to unclip from the bino when being stored in its case and then clipped onto the identical fittings on the case,it would have been nice to have both a seperate strap for the binocular and the case.
I also had a hekova of a fight getting the small connecting straps with the buckle through the binocular fitting thats on the binocular body, did it eventualy however their was a period of bad language.
Price?, as stated earlier by Kray 1,a great buy for $300, even with shipping and duty ($70) still a fine buy, seen on another website for $600, no I wouldn,t pay that for them and certainly not over a grand ,however the recomended retail price of most things is worthless anyway, Dave.

Only the one neck strap for the 12x60 HB, but it is really comfortable.

I also have one of these for my Fuji 7x50 FMTR-SX:

Good grief! Well hopefully the third time is the charm Those 10x50 Fujis sure sound nice. I decided that if I ever buy another pair of Fuji binos, those would be the ones.

I definately have my eye on the Fuji 10x50's for a future purchase. For right now, I've got to behave as I just bought a pair of Vortex 10x42HD Talons. My CFO is getting cranky with all my astro purchases!
