I have been busy imaging like crazy with my Tak FSQ 106 on the Atlas EQ-G. I will tell ya, that Atlas mount is one helluva fine perfomer! I actually am convinced it works better than the Losmandy G11 I had!!! Here is s summer pair in Hubble Palette...the Trifid and Lagoon Nebula's. Only saw Jerry Tarter and Ralph Bowman this trip (waved at Bob Pilgrim as he drove into town today). I had dinner (at great seafood buffet at Pollard's Corner) with Nick and Donna and their son Tim and his wife Michelle and their two munchkins. After PSSG, I'll head to Nick & Donna's for a couple of days, then we go to Savannah for a motorhome GTG. Doing Roundup tomorrow, and packing for the trip home Monday. H-alpha is red but when assembling the RGB using the "Hubble Palette", I assigned the colors in this order: Red = SII Narrowband Green = H-Alpha Narrowband Blue = OIII Narowband NASA has defined how they use their assignments so that visually the H-Alpha shows up best in green which of course responds to our eyes the most rather than red. Now in looking at the Dumbbell Nebula below, as you see, it's predominantly blue which indicates a strong ionization of the OIII line. Amy has had two surgeries and is on the road to recovery. I also had a minor surgery that put me out of commission for a little bit. Missed out on two star parties I wanted to go to (BEOTS and AHSP). Seems that my "free cabinets" project is taking much longer than before. Anyways.. I miss you guys!! In part to deliver my U2K to Jason, she has been mostly in storage, due to living in an efficiency apartment, and Jason has been wanting one. Secondarily for Jason to rebuild my 8 inch f/6 into something I can use,with out deragging around a probably 70 lb scope and mount. Got see some of his telescope creations in person, phenominal is all I can say. His garage revamp is coming alonmg very nicely as near as I can tell. Hope all theyre medical problems work out for the best, beleive me I know all medical stress, lol.
