I went to an old friend's, and as always, another friend who suffered a serious stroke years ago was there (he's trying, but not doing well). We had a great time, running American Flyer trains. I took French onion soup and came home with homemade sauerkraut!

For Christmas, one sister sent macaroons from Noo Joisey, and another sent spices.

As to other presents, I got myself a USB SSD for backup and a new HP Intel i7 laptop; about time, as my Dell is 6 years old, and my Toughbook is 8. Now I have to decide which of the old ones is surplus...the Toughbook is fading, its drive controller no longer works the optical drive.

Sounds like y'all were spoiled! yay for getting spoiled!

Nice to see Paul pop his face in too! Hi Paul! (Bet you won't see this as you are probably flying around France some where. Good for you!)

The boys are home for the holiday and we've been eating a lot of food and having a good time.

I got some nice stuff that I needed but the best thing was having the kids all here.

We sure miss the New Year get togethers with Y'all and the Crillys, Pool.

The quilt is a regular double bed size and although I expressed concern about putting this one on the bed and actually using it, Mom insists that it be used. This is the third one that she's given me and is my favorite one yet.

Scotty, we miss hanging with you all at New Year's too.

Instead of France for Christmas this year, Paul flew to Hawaii. He's on his way home now and will have to head back out after the new year to pick the passengers back up.

Poor Paul. What a terrible thing to have to do.
(I am really happy for him. He deserves such a wonderful job. He's earned it with all his hard work and perseverance.)

Erika, My Granny was the same way. Quilts were made to be used. It's beautiful! However, you are using it if you display it as art on the wall too.

It was a bummer that Jason left for Virginia yesterday to go to a wedding with his darling girlfriend, Jess. We adore her, so we don't blame him for wanting to go visit her and her family before they have to go back to school.

Chris and Haley are off to Dayton/Cincy to visit friends for a bit and we'll see them on the 1st before they go back to Nebraska.

Thank God we have Nikki still at home. She is the bright light of our world.

Update from orthopaedic doctor today: he is very pleased with my progress 2.5 months since surgery. He gave me a cortisone shot in each thumb today since it's been about 4 or 5 months and they have been troubling me a lot lately. I am still doing my therapy at home as the doctor sees my progress and knows I'm doing well with it. Yay!

Di, keep up the great work. I know how difficult therapy can be. It's boring and mostly it hurts. But the good news is it allows us to be painfree in the future. At least that is what I keep telling me. But I'm a horrible listener.
Tell Nikki we said hi.....not much golf in this weather.

Thank you Gary! How are you feeling?

Speaking of Nikki, she said the other day that she felt like golf broke up with her. Bet you feel the same.

That's only fair Di; since Scotty was the one that got me started in collecting meteorites by sending me a nice starter set! Meteorites vs lump of coal: Yep, that works!

Hey Di, my knee is doing fine at the moment......Rehab is as painful as anything I've ever done. It's hard to lay there and let them hurt me like that. I want to hit someone. But I know it's for my own good. They are getting about 110 degrees or so out of it now which is pretty good they say. Hopefully, it will allow me to walk without pain in a couple of months. I'm still planning to attend the WSP so I hope it's soon. Nikki's right about golf. Taylor Swift would write a song about the break-up!
