I purchased one of the ETX-80's to compliment my Meade LX200 classic 8in. Getting older prompted me to look for a quick grab and go scope as dragging the LX200 out is no small chore. I agree with your review and enjoyed the read. Thanks for posting it up.

Bad weather for the solar eclipse last Sunday had me hitting the road- and the ETX was the go-to scope I brought along- Small enough to hit comfortably in the full car...

That along with the article (and a suggestion or two from a friend who is an accomplished observer) has persuaded me to hang on to it a while longer. I'd actually bought some solar film for some 10x50 binos and the article made me remember the ETX I could use it on instead! Thanks for posting.
