The new Riccardi triplet Apo Reducer 0.75 was now successfully tested on the new Skywatcher Esprit Triplet FPL 53 Apo 120 mm F/7 = same scope as new Quantum 120 mm F/7 , it converts the original F/7 Instrument in a fast F/5.25 Astrograph. The reducer offers a mechanical backfocuse from end of reducer to Chip of 73.85 mm with a spot diameter at the edge of the Field of only 6 microns and a very low vigneting at the edge of only 20% for the smaller Riccardi reducer M63 which cost include focuser and camera adapters US $ 890 at current exchange rate. This reducer is available from stock by APM-Telescopes. You can order them also through your local dealer who has to contact us.
The Riccardi Reducer was now also tested with success on the TEC 140 Apo and TEC 180 Fluorite and the chinese triplet FPL 53 Apos from german based Telescope-Express company.
Massimo Riccardi, famous optical Designer from Italy, designed for APM-Telescopes a new 3 element ( with ED Glas) 0.75 x Apo-Reducer/Flattener Corrector for all TMB-APM-LZOS Apochromatic Telescopes. Tests show that it also works on Apos from other manufacturers very well
The corrector was designed to work with most diffrent telescopes, by changing little the backfocuse only.
The Coating of the corrector is optimized for modern CCD Camera spectral range.
The correctors performance was designed to have very zero to very low edge vigneting, tight spots nd a large corrected image circle
We choosed in the design 2 diffrent size of reducers
Model 1, small version has at both ends standart Metric M63 x 1 thread for which many adapters available off the shelf. It screws straight into the 2.5" Starlight Instruments Feather Touch focuser and new APM 2.5" Focuser
This small version has a corrected image circle up to 22 mm for the APM Triplets 80/500 and 80/480 and corrected image circle of 42 mm for all APM/LZOS Apos 100 mm up to 152 mm and a backfocuse from corrector mechanics to CCD chip, little above 70 mm
This smaller version works perfect with our Apo Telescopes from 80 mm up to 152 mm diameter with 2.5" and even better with 3" focusers
Model 2,big version has a corrected image circle up to 52 mm and a backfocuse from corrector mechanics to CCD chips, little above 75 mm. The big version has at both ends a metric M82 x1 thread and works perfect with 3", 3.5" and 4" focusers. Here also many adapters available off the shelf.
our own Maschine shop can and will make you any necassary adapter for perfect spacing and your focuser.
The big corrector is optimized for all TMB-APM-LZOS Apos 100 mm up to 254 mm diameter , plus APM Apo 107/700 and works also well on some chinese Apos with similar sizes and f-ratios
Riccardi - Reducer / Flattener Adjustment Flange large
For our new Riccardi Reducer / Flattener we can offer you additional for the exact adjustment at tilting this new adjustment flange. With three screws it is possible to adjust the reducer exactly straight to get the maximum sharpness over the whole field.
each corrector comes with both ends screw on metal covers.
The details for spot and vigneting can be found on our new webside apm-telescopes.net , or drop us a email and we send you links
Prices :
- small M63 apo reducer Euro 504 ( about $ 655 ) - big M82 apo reducer Euro 546 ( about $ 755) - push pull optical axis adjusting flange Euro 66 ( about $ 87 ) - adapters for your focuser and your cameras on request
Delivery time : - the reducers are in stock - adapters need 1 to 2 weeks

I have the Meade 14" ACF, will reducer/flattener work?
I also have the Meade 6000 80mm APO, will it work?
Can you provide benefits that I would enjoy on my scopes with this product?

Hi Tony
it will work perfect on your 14" ACF yes
it will NOT work on your 80 mm apo, because you need minimum a 2.5" focuser and minimum 7.1" backfocuse
the benefit you will have on the meade is a apochromatic corrected 0.75 x FOV for imaging for full format CCD chip

So, if I use this with my 14" ACF:
1) Reduce my focal length
2) Further flatten the field
3) Eliminate need for the Meade Reducer/Flattener
I use a Canon 5D Mark II, which is full frame, so this should be awesome. Which unit would I need?

Markus...has anyone tried the FR/FF on ES127 or any of the 127ED triplet F7.5, 952mm FL scopes?
Reason I ask is that ES has a hole in their inventory for a FR/FF for the 127ED.
Thanks

Markus, does the reducer/flattener screw on the visual back of the scope, or, does it slide in like an eye-piece?

Sorry Markus I wasn't clear, I (like many others) have a Moonlite CFL focuser on my 127ED.
What I meant to ask is: "has this FR/FF been tried on a 127ED"?
I tried TV RFL-4087 with 2.5" custom adaptors and it didn't flatten the field so I am looking for a good FR/FF that is known to work with 127ED.

Has this been tested on any ED doublets? Just wondering what the chances of it working on an Equinox/Eon 120? Of course I would have to upgrade to a 2.5" focuser as well.
