About a month ago I asked you guys to aprove my spring-start observing list. I was just thinking about it again, as spring nears closer, "Am I gunna be able to see these things?"
I gave you guys the aperture of my scope 10", but don't remember telling you about my skies.
Basically, will I be able to see the Virgo Cluster with a ten inch dob, and mag 3.5 - 4ish skies?
Thanks!

My brother observed most of the brighter members of the Virgo Cluster with a 4.5-inch reflector five miles from downtown Pittsburgh with glaring lights everywhere. I think the answer is "yes"! Have fun!

Thanks alot! I hate the notion of spending a long time outside looking for something in 0 degree weather when I don't have enough aperture.

BTW, what kind of magnification should I be using?

50x should do for galaxy-hopping. Under 30-40* you might mistake some of them for stars. You can push around 100x to see a little detail on some of them.
