Problem with date and time LX90 LNT new
      #5236294 - 05/23/12 07:35 PM

When I go to set up my telescope I have to reset the date and time. Seems that the clock in the LNT module does not continue to run after I turn off the telescope. The date and time stays on what the time was on the last day I used the telescope.

I've changed the battery, thinking this was the problem. The last one lasted about 2 years, and this one has been in for about 2 years too. But the problem remains. I changed the battery again thinking I put in a dead battery - but nope.

It's a wired controller that has been updated in the last few years. Everything had been working fine up until this last six months or so.

The compass works fine, and the clock is accurate as long as I have power to the scope.

Any ideas?

Bad cable connection?

Maybe mine is different, but I always have to set the date and time on my LX90 EMC.

I always have to enter time and date in my LX90 LNT upon start up.

Something is wrong. The watch battery inside the LNT module keeps date and time.

If a new battery does not work then either the LNT cable connection is faulty or the LNT module itself is broken.

Am I wrong? but doesn't the GPS get the date time and position? From the Meade web site...

GPS Receiver. LX90 can do more than track satellites. It talks to them as well. Turn it on and the built-in Sony® GPS sensor immediately determines your precise date, time and location. AutoAlign™ then uses this info to align your scope for a tour of the most spectacular sights in the universe.

I believe LNT stands for Level North Time. This unit does not have the GPS.

Looks like after you replace the LNT battery, you have to recalibrate the LNT module sensors. I don't see that option in the setup menu manual?
