Shot of Saturn taken tonight under some pretty good conditions. Trying to figure out what that dark spot is near the center of the light blue Northern Temperate Belt. Artifact or real?

Nice image James, reckon that is real detail. I have been tracking a dark spot situated on the southern edge of the great storm remnant for a month or so. It has a L3 of approx 336 degrees. I posted my most recent images of it here on CN May 20th. There have been other distinct features within the storm remnant but they only show up in good seeing.

It may be real. I got some darker features transiting on my last animations.

Hi James, just had another look at my data and I have quoted the wrong L3 for the dark spot. On that particular night I capture the dark spot but also a white spot, which was further North in the region of the recent SEDS outburst.
The white spot was at Lat +15.6 L3 336.2 The dark spot was at Lat +43.4 L3 255.9
In my previous reply in your thread I mistakenly quoted the L3 for the white spot instead of the dark spot.
