Hi, Not sure if this post should be here in the equipment section or in CCD imaging, but here goes...
I'm the new owner of an EdgeHD 11" OTA (well, I can't use it yet as the mount is still coming ).
If you have an EdgeHD 11"/14" scope and an SBIG camera I'd be keen to know how you connect it all up.
Specifically:
1. The STL has a "smooth" nose-piece. What connector do you use to attach it to your EdgeHD scope (the only connectors I've seen so far are threaded)?
2. The optimal back-focus for the EdgeHD is I think 146mm. What brand / mix of extenders do you use to achieve this?
Your help / experience appreciated.
Regards,
Brian

Some people get one of these and then stick the 2" nose piece into the new visual back. You could then use "whatever" threaded nose piece to get your backspacing correct. I used one of those with a DSLR on an EdgeHD 11" SCT.
Out of curiosity, do you desire to shoot at f/10 and a 2.7m focal length, or are you planning on looking at the new focal reducer for the EdgeHD 11" SCT? If that were the case you may have to look into how that connection would work. I think there are a few folks who have done that, so they might provide some guidance there. Enjoy your EdgeHD, they are marvelous telescopes.

I use a secondary focuser so I can lock down the primary mirror after rough focus. This helps with mirror movement as the scope tracks in RA. I just got the .7 focal reducer and it will go between my scope and focuser.

Hi Kirk, thanks for that. The piece of kit you mention looks good. I will investigate that.
I do intend to get the .7x reducer, but they're apparently not available in the UK yet.
Jeff, I will see how focusing goes, but may look at an external focused in due course.

I've relisted my question under the CCD Imaging thread as it may get more response there.
Thanks.
