Saturn June 11th in reasonable seeing
      #5267484 - 06/12/12 03:09 AM Attachment (72 downloads)

Hi All,

The computer weather modeling looked crook last night but it was clear so I gave it a go.

Was quite surprised to see some reasonable data, not great but better than I expected.

Have 3 RGB's along with their "R" channels and also 1 807nm IR image.
Have attached animations of the RGB & "R" channel data. A dark spot can be seen coming in from the "f" side on the Southern edge of the old storm remnant, it is quite obvious in the RGB animation.

Rhea was in this data, I processed it separately and included it in the "R" channel data.

Thanks for looking.

Regards
Trevor

Trevor,

Very nice! My imaging is on hold for a while so I have to enjoy the planets through the efforts of my friends. Thanks!!

Thanks for your comments guys. The GFS jetstream charts indicated just about a worst case scenario over my area. At the moment the steadiness or not of Arcturus seems a good indication for the likely seeing for Saturn. On this night, very early on Arcturus looked steadier than it has been for a while and got steadier as it rose higher. I suppose this underlines just how inexact these predictive computer models really are.
