This thread is a way to donate excess materials from your scope making projects. I suggest that the recipient offer to pay shipping charges. Please PM the person with the materials you seek with your address.

Please limit the posts in this thread to materials. Questions ect. can be exchanged via PM's.

I have two machined aluminum handles that would be perfect for a pier or a scope. They measure 6.5" x 2.5" x .75" and are tapped for 5/16-18 screws.

Here is the one that John used on his project.

Hey Mark,

This thread could be an ongoing resource if we could keep it from disappearing. If it were pinned to the top of the ATM threads, then people would remember that it's there.

BTW, that handle is just fabulous; it makes handling my tripod a breeze.

This thread will always be accesible thru the "Best of ATM" thread at the top. There is a link to this thread in that one. Glad to hear the handle works well for ya John!

Free to a good home:

a 3.375" mirror (prolly F10 but I don't know for sure);

In a plastic collimatable cell that will fit a 4.25" tube.

The mirror is dirty and needs cleaning, the alum coating is OK.
This would be a good mirror for a beginner ATM project so you can decide if you like this aspect of Amateur Astronomy.

Free --A classic Edmund Scientific (Edcorps)1960's post mount for a 6 or 8 inch newt. It was given to me rusted, and
I cleaned and repainted it with a coast of hammered steel-colored rustoleum,and lubed the bearings. Built like a tank, about 3' high, no setting circles or drives. 2 counterweights.
Great if you want to restore a classic to all its glory.
I would rather not ship this, but it is free for pick up in the nothern San Francisco Bay area.
