Hi guys Can someone please give me the cpc 1100 dimensions, as in the OTA alone without the fork mount? A quick google search did not give me an answer... What I am thinking of doing is trying to take an OTA on a transatlantic flight. A

Hi Alex, I cannot answer your question, but I did take mine with me from New York to Germany last year, and it made the trip intackt! That is, I had a big bag for the fork and base, and put the tube in a hard-shell and there were no problems, except for the 100 dollar extra luggage fee. I have the dimensions of my suitecase, if that helps, that is if I have not thrown it away. There was like 2mm of room, but it was perfectly sung. Matthew

Thanks Matthew, that took guts to put it in the hold!! I was thinking of taking the ota out of the fork and bringing it on board. But I need the dimensions of the ota. I'm planning on buying one overseas and bringing it back with me.

Hi Alex,
The CPC 1100 tube assembly is approximately 12.5" in diameter measured at the widest part of the front cover, and 24.25" long measured from the front cover to the rear of the focus knob. Note that these dimensions do not include a visual back or digaonal.
Hope that helps.

Hi! I still don't have mine, but I think it's not that simple to remove the OTA from the fork. You'd probably need tools, time, and care

It's very easy to remove the OTA from the fork. I know a few guys on here have done it to swap tubes, ad mirror locks, move to GEM mounts, etc. I'm considering it myself for the benefits of a GEM.
