OR Venus Transit 2012 with 18th century telescopes
      #5277087 - 06/18/12 01:01 PM

Below you can find two excellent observation reports for the interesting experiment with two antique telescopes (made in 18th century). These reports are unambiguously confirming that astronomical instruments of that historical period were adequate enough to observe the Venus' atmosphere effects (solar light refraction) during its transitions over the Sun.

According to many historical documents the similar telescope (Made by Dollond, London) was used by the discoverer of Venus atmosphere, Russian scientist of 18th century M. Lomonosov.
