Here are my observations of planets Mars, Jupiter and Saturn with an 3.5" refractor at 100x & 228x.
Mars: 13.06.2012, probably my last sketch of this opposition, NPC-small & white, Syrtis Major easly visible and dark, Hellas still bright.

Jupiter: 17.06.2012 First observation after the Sun conjuction, made in twilight. Some feature are different from last winter. NTB-very broad(seems like a copy of NEB), dark-grey; NEB-dark-grey. EZ-white, SEB-seems rather thiner since the last past months, dark-red.

Saturn: 16.06.2012. NEB-broad and brownish,NTrZ-light grey(whitish), ring A(dark grey) & B(white) easly separated by Cassini divison, C ring(dark grey) visible against the planet's disk.

Nice work Catalin!

you describe syrtis major as 'easily visible and dark'.
do you feel it's easier to see now than a few months back, when mars was bigger?

I ask this because i found syrtis major not to be as dark as previous years, but it can just be me. perhaps SM appears a bit darker for some reason when mars is getting smaller again?

Thanks! I described it for the current Mars diameter in respect to other features. The other features are hard or elusive to see at 7" diameter for my 90mm refractor. Several month ago was even more easly visible. What I saw this apparition is that Syrtis as Mars is getting smaller seems to became lighter. Perhaps is a combination of brightenss and smaller diameter effect or some dust/clouds in Mars atmosphere.
