The area around Tucson has decent dark skies so a related star party, say north of town where they do outreach would be a very tie in.

That time of year avoids the nasty winter storms that happen just a bit later so that is not a bad time.

Make sure to get in contact with the local astronomy club, if you want to know about dark sky options around here. I believe the club president is already a member of the Facebook group.

Jim and you did outreach out by the Catalina's. Are you still doing that?

When things line up right. I don't do outreach the way I did at first. Too many conflicting priorities - and that without a job getting in the way!

There are better (darker) sites than Catalina State Park within a short drive of the convention center.

Great question! I think we could volunteers to run the camera and walk around the show. But to get the equipment and the bandwidth and coordinate with CN might be a bit harder to do. I'm not sure how big a presence CN will have what with Astronomics own Grand Opening at the end of September.

Cloudy Nights is listed as a sponsor (along with Astronomics as a vendor) so I'm guessing we're intended to be there...don't know the details though! I'm hoping/planning to go and if we're doing a webcast then I'll once again be the hostess with the mostest.

Webcast for sure. Astronomics isn't going sell at this point, but we are there in an informational capacity.

Thanks Bob!

I don't do Face Book, and I could not find a direct link to the show posted here.

Tom
