The moon was my first telescopic object; it blew me away at age 13; it still does at age 69.

Elvis is a little more senior now so that is an older pic.
FWIW I have been doing serious observing for more than 3 decades. Obviously I am not an avid Lunar observer (unless outreaching) but I had not heard of the "X" until this year on these forums. Neat! The Straight Wall was my favorite small feature but the "X" might replace it. Got to look for it next month!

I have a complete Elvis outfit and have had a great time showing up at parties, with my wife, who wears a Priscilla outfit. I do a few pantomimes such as Jail House Rock and Hound Dog. When I am serious, I show up with my 12.5 inch Portaball instead.

No, sometimes it happens in daylight or just not a good observing window of opportunity. Click on the link above and you can see what the times are each month. He has highlighted the best dates and time for viewing and then you have to convert the times to your viewing area.
