Hello all, last night we finally had a cool front come through and with it brought very transparent skies. First time out in a month or so. Scorpio was high in the southern sky and looking great!
I then started viewing in the east as Lyra and Cygnus were on the rise. For some reason, there were a lot of satellites wizzing by in that part of the sky. Saw at least two of them in the eyepiece! One, really got my attention. Actually two....one was coming from the south and heading NE and the other one was out of the NE heading south. Watch them cross each others path, that was a first and pretty cool.
Tonight is another clear night and the ISS is coming by at 9:30 EST and is going to pass right by Mars, Moon and Saturn and a -3 mag. so should be pretty neat sight!

You might want to check out Iridium Flares... A bright one can be really spectacular. Heavens-above.com gives predictions.

I saw the ISS zip by tonight, from a few hours north of the OP's area. That was probably the brightest I've seen it. I was able to track it at 40x with my dob for about half a minute. It wasn't the steadiest of platforms, but it was fun to do, and I could see some semblance of the shape.

Yes, good pass last night. Came out of the NW across the sky with Saturn and Moon and then headed south....very bright.
