If you're just going to clean the corrector, then I think it's easy enough to do it yourself. Follow this guide http://www.arksky.org/asoclean.htm and you'll end up with clean, streak-free optics. I've cleaned my scopes a couple times so far and it works every time.

I have done many services for new members including one on one phone support getting that nice scope fixed up. The swirls and smudging in the optics will make a difference defracting light instead of passing it through cleanly. your contrast will be affected. I will help you free if you want my help PM me and I'll set up a time to walk you through step by step. either over a chat session or on the phone. friends Larry Beach

I can second the cleaning method mentioned in the link. I believe Dr. Clay Sherrod was the one who came up with this cleaning method. OPT actually sells the kit (less the kleenex you need) if you don't want to mix up your own.
I bought a brand new 8SE about 1 1/2 years ago and a couple of months ago I noticed a haze both on the exterior surface of the corrector plate and the interior of it. Evidently Celestron is using something internally (probably the grease) that outgasses. Anyway, using the method described I now have a like new corrector plate with no streaks or swirls.
