This is my latest attempt at DSLR imaging
I still can't seem to shoot flats correctly and I not happy with how red my stars turned out but I do like the way that the Ring Nebula turned out
I lost about my subs do to an on going guiding issue but still I'm liking it
it's 20 2 min subs
I'm using a Mod 350D
Mike

Nice!

nebula looks good, did you try to adjust the red in processing?

I was curious so I did a simple color calibration in PI and this is what I got.

Somebody once recommended that I try a program called excalibrate, it does the color balance by looking for reference stars in your image then telling you the ratios of red, green and blue to set up in your software. It works great, its free and it is extremely confusing to use

You will also need to be able to plate solve your images to use the software

Thanks Mike but PI gets the credit. It literally was 30 sec of "effort".

PI = PixInsight. The more I'm using it the better I like it. If I'd continued processing I would have restored color to the nebula or adjusted my color calibration parameters.

Looking real good Mike! Those modded cameras sure do capture those colors well. Your second post has great looking stars!
