Well here's my latest offering (Comet in the Perseus Double Cluster).
For this i took an image i had taken of the Cluster a couple of week's ago and used it for the Background with a little processing. Next i made a rocky Ball and hacked at it with the eraser tool using a little strengh 25% and made the shape of a comet. Now after making my comet i wanted to get the texture's looking better so i used the magic wand tool and randomly selected parts of the comet and with each turn used distort filter\Sphere some coming outwards and some coming inwards.
When i was finally happy with the Comets Shape and texture i copied it into a New layer. From here i used the Blending option for layers and used outer glow(white). Then once i had got it just as i wanted i copied the comet with it's glow into yet another layer, from this newly made layer i added the motion blur tool and set it so it left a trail, this was repeated a few time's until the tail of the comet was leaveing the screen to the right.
Lastly flattend the image and used the smudge tool around the glow to give it a more realistic look and feel...
Comet in the Perseus Double Cluster.
Hope you all like the result.
