You would be suprised at how easy it all was. The bearing mods took some careful planning but was actually quite simple. The hardest of all was fitting the 1244 focuser. I figured I would take the chance since I found one so cheap.

That is a real thorough lift for this little scope.. Brilliant and brave
I wish I had the guts.
Btw. Imo your focuser is probably the greatest improvement over all
I always found that focuser tiresome

The focuser was certainly frustrating before the modification. The guider makes the scope worth using the mallincam with and makes it see like it is a whole lot bigger. While the mods seem difficult they really not difficult to do. Too bad Meade didn't make some kind of upgrade package to the little guys. Anyway it is small and light, so when going up to the lake it is going to go with me now!
