Works of art! The off-set "X" of the spider, looking more like >o<...how does that change the spikes in the image? Is there four or eight?

This looks like it has potential. How does it hold collimation? I like the solid side bearings.

Hello,
There are 4 spikes, as usual, as far as the >0< are parallel. The advantage of such structure is that the given torque prevents the center part from pivoting.
The structure is made in order to hold collimation in all position. Each instrument is tested on the sky, and would not leave the factory if there were such a problem.
The large side bearings provide a stronger stability, and allow to keep the balance, even when putting on/off heavy accessories.
The Dobson Factory has built up to now 50 instruments. Each one has been made on order, according to clients specifications, for very demanding users, in France, Belgium, Germany, Spain. We have also orders from the USA, Chili (from one of the ingenieurs working at VLT), Japan.
We can provide the mount only, for people who have already the optics, or prefer optics from a local mirror maker.
