I have yet to try a Ethos. Had about all the Nags since the 80's and always loved them. I just wonder if the Ethos is that much a of a jump over the Nags?

I'd say so! The Ethos supplies an image to nearly 50% more retina than does the Nagler. That significantly enough increases the face-to-the-spaceship's-porthole effect.
I have a pair of 13mm Ethoi I use on my home-made binocular; what a grand view!

You won't regret it , trouble is you buy one and you'll want more. I bought the 17mm , now I have all from 6 to 21mm.

I have tried the 13mm Ethos, 14mm ES 100 and 9mm ES 100. The view feels like you are about to fall in ~ it is that immersive!
True as what Nevy says above: If you try ONE, You will want all of your eyepiece set to be 100°!!!
Cheers,

Mikey said it best..."try it, you'll like it!" Definitely more costly than a bowl of cereal but the gap is narrowing.

They are in a class by themselves. I just can hardly use anything else now, I'm so spoiled. I was out last night with my NP 101 and used my 10mm, 4.7, and 3.7. Not only is the FOV enormous, but crisp stars right to the edge. I want 'em all and only lack the 21mm.

I just finally broke down and ordered the 21mm Ethos, it will be here Monday to join my 13, 10 and 8. The incredible thing about the Ethos design is there is no compromise for having the extra FOV - it's a bigger view, and also better in every way.
Now that I have passed fifty I have been having problems with blackouts with my Nagler 31T5 and a 27 Pan I just tried - but the Ethos are all comfy, they just hug my corneas as it were, no blackouts or brownouts or kidney beans. 100 degree is a bonus without penalty - in fact they are sharper and have better contrast than any of my Naglers or Panoptics.
Ethos make manual tracking fun, something completely new. Try it you will love it.

I tried a friend's 13mm Ethos. I decided to stick with my Naglers. However, many love their Ethos. I recommend that you go to a star party and do some side by side comparisons between the Naglers and Ethos to see if they are for you. I would be very interested in your report.

What Gene said. It's a big investment, so make sure the larger AFOV of the Ethos is for you.

I very recently acquired the Ethos 13mm as part of a scope deal (though I was salivating more over the Ethos than the scope!) It is the real deal and an amazing eyepiece.
I used to have a little trouble seeing the entire FOV in my ES82's. A little practice and then it became second nature. With the Ethos, there was no learning curve, I just drove right in, right down to that nice sharp field stop! I've only had it out for a few sessions and on a few limited objects but the views so far have been outstanding!

Most of my viewing is planets at over 600x since i have some very steady seeing in my FL skies. I do enjoy somewhat lower power views of deepsky stufff and sweeping at lower power on nites with unsteady seeing.
I sure loved my 22mm Nag, so i would think a 21mm Ethos would be a great way to try out the Ethos line.

I guess there is little point in a Ethos if you must wear glasses for astigmatism, you could not get that close to see the big field of view. Gene
