Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
Count me in, as well; if I don't have complete cloud cover.

You can now submit your GLOBE at Night results using your smartphone! See the Twitter feed at this link:
GLOBE at Night News
This has the potential to dramatically increase both awareness of light pollution and the number of observations made. Spread the word!

I just got a new Android phone so I'll be using the webapp - GLOBE at Night webapp - for my observations. Also makes it easier to record observations at different locations - no forms to carry or coordinates to look up. But, as you stated, all observations count, regardless of how you choose to do it. The main thing is to DO IT - !

I just posted my result during very bad circumstances (90% cloudy, so waiting a lot of time for the holes in the clouds to pass by at the right location)
Can you post more then one result from the same location over several days??

Yes, you can post several observations from the same site during the campaign. You can also report from different locations on the same night. Try walking or driving around a bit. You'll probably be surprised at the differences you'll notice even between fairly close locations.

Okay,
Just posted for the second time my results. They confirm the first measurement (approx. mag 4.0) I know that generally after midnight more lights are switched off and the limiting magnitude can rise till 5.0-5.5 in the best case scenario.

I finally managed to post some data. It's been unusually cloudy of late, here in the desert, and other hassles have tied me up several clear nights. Came up with mag 4.0 from my back yard and an SQM reading of 18.45 mag/arcsec2. This is a bit below average for my location, which is usually mag 4.5 in the hours leading to midnight, and an SQM of 18.65 mag/arcsec2. (It can be better still in the early morning, a few hours before dawn.)

Well I posted two data points. Unfortunately the sky was a good deal brighter than normal at my Southern Tier of NY home: 19.92 on my SQM. According to their calculator, that translates to a naked-eye limit of mag 5.44. I guess it’s the snow cover, because my typical reading is more like 20.3 or so, and darker if the valley fogs up.
Just for fun I also submitted an SQM reading I took at a “dark corner” of a restaurant parking lot in the one commercial development strip in the area. It read 17.85, or mag 3.84 limit (which seemed right from what I was seeing). This location is in a valley and no more than 7 to 10 miles away I’ve measured the sky as dark as 21.0, but there’s a light dome in the direction of the mall strip.
