I purchased a first copy one year ago at regular price.
I purchased a second copy at saleout price on August 04, 2012. It reached Switzerland after one month, passed Swiss Customs processing on September 12, and was delivered to me September 13, in well-packed and perfect condition.
Thank you, Piotr!
Stephan
Just curious Stephan, did you bought your second GAotS for you ?

In the case of printed star atlases you still have the equivalent of zooming in/out in that you have to flip pages which can be time consuming (and in some cases have to grab a different volume).
Dave,
What you describe above is part of what I love about printed atlases. The tactile element; the personal contact with the charts themselves, the handling of the different volumes - these are benefits of printed atlases to me!

Same here. I like it when friends and acquaintances come over and atlases in my study catch their attention and they flip through it with certain curiosity and ask questions. I am not sure, they would feel the same way, if I had a software atlas on running on my PC. I do not think they would be bothered to ask about what it is. For them, it would just be a piece of software they will never use. Also for the same reason, I use typewriters to write letters, applications, memos, invitations etc.

Ok,
My atlas showed up yesterday (actually, they attempted to deliver it on the 11th, but I was not at home.)
My initial impression is that it is huge! Much bigger than I anticipated. The charts are wonderfully detailed.

Yes, I buyed the second copy for myself. It is always good to have backup or spare charts of this outstanding Atlas. When it is gone, it is gone.

I received mine this morning! I went home for lunch and there it was. It was big, heavy, beautiful. I only had time to open it up and have a look, and it is in perfect condition. It was very well packaged. I'll inventory it when I have more time this evening. Thank you so much Piotr! It's gorgeous!
I ordered it on July 26th, so it took just a little under two months to get it. To me, it was well worth the wait.

Most excellent!! I love mine too. I spent part of the evening yesterday adding hole protectors on each page. Got half way done. As I added them to each page, I would just stare at some of the pages. I am amazed at the detail.
Now I need to get my hands on a Millenium Star Atlas someday

OK, I succumbed to the temptation. Ordered the evening of 9-16, requesting notice when it shipped. I got shipping confirmation by email today, 9-18 from Piotr Brych.
I went for the economy shipping, so it should arrive around Thanksgiving. Tracking appears to be with USPS international.

Okie,
Who actually delivered your package, USPS or UPS? I ordered mine on the same day you did, so mine should be close.
Thanks

I received mine today also. I ordered it at the end of July and it came by USPS. Had to sign for it. It is a monster, but it is also awsome. Thanks Piotr. I will use it well.

I don't know Jim. It was on my front porch when I got home for lunch. I wish they would have put it in a more inconspicuous place. They put it right in front of the door where it was visible from the street.
