Well, third attempt, but first decent one. I know I still need to nail down the focus. I'm going to cut out a 2 hole mask to help focusing and haven't got around to making it yet, but finally got a decent focused one in between clouds today.
I used a SolarMax II 60mm with single filter (will get a dual soon when the credit card cools off). I connected my Olympus E-PM1 with a 2x Orion barlow.
Then post-processed a bit. I'm happy with it, but I know it can be better.
Any hints on taking good images with the SolarMax II 60mm?

Hey Kev! Not a bad image. Do you have photoshop? I use Photoshop CS3 and use smart sharpen to sharpen up my images a bit. I find getting perfect focus on the sun is very, very difficult. I sharpen it up after stacking to compensate.

Funny enough I have Photoshop 6.... the original 6, not CS6 (circa 1999).
I'll actually trying upping the sharpening when I process the RAW. Should come out better at that point... thanks for the tip.
I gotta find the time to make my Hartmann mask. I've got the template printed out (generated with this link http://www.billyard-ink.com/Hartmann.shtml) and I just have to put it onto cardboard and cut it out!
