Precession changes the position of the celestial equator, but not of the ecliptic. Ophiuchus was a zodiacal constellation when Claudius Ptolemy codified modern astronomy and astrology, just as it is today. Which, of course, makes the "discovery" of Ophiuchus in January 2011 all the more of a non-news story.
