OK, Program downloaded and installed. Check. All additional databases downloaded to desktop. Check.
Alright, HOW do I get them into CdC? It's not clear. The instructions talk about how to download the data files, but how do you get them to show up in the program?

Don, Under Setup in the top menu, choose "catalog". There you will see "CdC Stars" and CdC Deep Sky. Just check the boxes you want to see and they will be there when you click either OK or Apply. If CdC needs to know where they are, click the yellow folder to the right of each catalog and navigate to the correct path. At least that's the way it works on my mac. Good Luck!

The UCAC3 star catalog does not show up there. All the catalogs that are there are checked and have the correct destinations. Also, I note that the charts often have labels directly on top of one another, making them impossible to read (Try the area of NGC2292/2293 etc.) So far, Megastar is a lot easier to use. Before I can recommend this program to people, I need to know how to bring the larger databases into the program and move the overlapping labels.

FYI:
http://www.ap-i.net/skychart/en/documentation/catalog
Although I really don't need the UCAC3 catalog, I downloaded the ucac3-catalog-equator.zip and ucac3-catalog-north.zip files today. I consolidated the contents of both unzipped files in the cat directory as subdirectory ucac3.
Example: C:\Program Files\Ciel\cat\ucac3
It works.
