ive been looking at the explore scientific twilight heavy duty mount. wondering if anyone has one and what do you think of it. it looks like a real solid built mount but how smooth is the motion in both axis. thanks, don

I assume you are asking about the Twilight II. I had one and sold it. I kept the tripod as it is solid. I replace the mount with the CT Duo available at Woodland. I wanted the slo-mo ability and IMO the Twilight II just wasn't smooth enough.

the Canadian Telescope Duo seems to be a very good mount from what i've been reading... i'm looking ot pick one up for my scopes...
telescopes.net has it also.. here's the link for US buyers

Since the SkyTee is drop shipped from Canada, I assume ,depending on the courier, that there's a US Customs fee?
BTW, I have the Twilight II head. Actions are smooth with a 20lb MN -66 ota, but needed a counter-weight on the opposite side else there was some slight stiction on the azimuth axis. Lighter ota's may not need a cw.

I had a SkyTee 2, aka Canadian Telescope Duo, and used it with a 8" SCT on one side with a 8" Newtonian on the other. A fairly impressing mount for $300.
