Oh wow... against all odds, I just got a shipping notice that my 3.5" Feathertouch focuser is arriving on the 15th! This focuser with a special shorty adapter will give my FS152 an extra 1" infocus and an extra .75" outfocus (my stock Tak 4" focuser only has 2.75" travel versus 4.5" for the Feathertouch).

Johnny,

My TOA-130 and FS-102 are also finally due back next week too. Good timing.

The TOA needed to be collimated. The crazy part is with shipping there and back, it was $524. Ouch! I had nothing done on the FS-102 focuser, but still got charged $75 for evaluation.

I have to do my annual, pre-CSPAMP work trip and I leave tomorrow and back Wed night. So, today, I am piling everything up so I can swiftly put it in the car and leave Thursday for CSPAMP. Yeah!

The scopes are ready, the camping gear is clean, and the car is in the shop until tuesday, and may or may not work once it gets back.

Looking forward to seeing you up there Steve! Wow that collimation fee is stiff. It's one reason I switched from the TOA130 to the FS152.

NEW ADDITION! Just bought a Coulter CT-100 that will make the trip if it gets here on time.

Great! You will love it - it's the most "HD-like" view I've ever seen, the resolution is simply phenomenal.

...and what is a Coulter CT-100?

Linda and I plan to be there Thursday and leaving sometime Saturday. I will also be bringing a newbie named Steve Reynolds with me this year. Last year I borrowed his camper to come up with Linda. Since then I bought my own so we will be coming with both campers. We are really looking forward to seeing you all again and enjoying the magnificent seeing!

If all goes according to plan, I'll be heading up there Thursday and leaving whenever sleeping on the ground gets the best of me. I have enough camp food to last until Monday though, to play it safe

I'm going to try to make it, depending on what's happening with Curiosity. I haven't taken a day off since landing, though, so I need to anyway!

Prolly bring the Optical Craftsmen and maybe the Tak FC-76. Gotta squeeze into the CR-V, since my van needs an [expensive] engine.

Anyone bringing a 120V source? I was contemplating bringing my new imaging rig to try it under dark skies one of the nights, but it turns out my laptop's battery is toast and I don't have a 12V adapter for it.

Of course it's all moot if I can't find car space

If you are parked close enough to me I have a 120v inverter in my camper. Just bring an extension chord and you should be good!
