I just got a call from Skies Unlimited and they are shipping my LX80 "mount only" today and I should have it by Monday.
Don't know whether to be happy or not. Ted did say the firmware fixes have been applied although I ordered the computer cables just in case.
Thanks to all you unpaid beta testers for doing your thing. It's been years since I've had my last Meade product, an 8" LX200 Classic that was stable and strong for many years of service. AFAIK it's still plugging away with it's new owner.

When they announced the price increase around the time of NEAF. I paid $799 shipped.

Confirmed. I got a call yesterday morning from OPT that mine was in. I picked it up in person. I was told by Meade that a "bunch" shipped that they held them up until they had the firmware applied to them before they went out.
I originally ordered mine back in November 2011.

Thanks for the update, I pre-ordered my LX80 in February from Astronomics but I don't know how many are ahead of me and how many Meade has ready to ship.

I got in right after the price increase was announced and my dealer is saying 1 to 4 weeks, like he is use to! This time I believe him. Looks like I am in the 2nd large (commercial) batch.

Joe, I ordered from Astronomics last November and emailed them today to check the order status. Was told that Meade has only sent them 2 "mount only" and they can't tell me when mine will come in.
