Lol!
I got home about 3 hrs ago. Will post a couple pans I took with my iPhone when I get to the computer.
We had about 3 hrs of clear last night before the clouds socked in. I brought the OC 8" Connoisseur with the 3" f/10 Edmund guide scope on it and they both did very well. I kid you not, twice in a row when I went to change faint fuzzies, I caught a satellite crossing the field and followed it for a minute or so.
Oh, and James yelped when a bright Perseid streaked across the sky, and I had time to look up and swivel my head around to see it! And no lingering physical damage resulting from the high slew rate!!

Well, Photosynth makes great pans, but you have to be careful of people moving and scopes close to the camera!

The weather was actually pretty decent up there. I just got home 10 minutes ago (its 3AM). There were a few clouds, but nothing that got in the way. Thanks again to Dan and Clint for a fantastic time!

Contrary to weather forecasts for Frazier Park when I arrived at Pinos around 5pm on Saturday it was perfectly clear and the parking lot was getting full. I was able to squeeze in and get a good spot near the center of the lot.
I knew it would be clear over the mountain as I was heading north on 5 as I did not see any clouds in that direction. It stayed clear the entire evening except for around midnight some thin clouds obscured the western view but that cleared.
Anyway, I stayed the night and got up around 5am to take in some magnificent views of M42, Venus, and Jupiter.
I left Pinos around 6:30am this morning and just got in a few moments ago.
Overall, a great night of seeing. I'll be back up there again next month.

Yes, I should have stayed!!
I had a party to attend last night, and though the party was very nice, the weather was not. It was still sweltering when I left about 10pm.

It was great seeing you all and enjoying the views.
We broke down on the way home. My serpentine belt broke and we had to get the camper towed. It all got fixed though and we made it home ok. Ended up taking a few extra hours.
Thanks to Clint for organizing another great get together! Looking forward to doing it again next year!
What happened to Lew??? He was planning on coming up Thursday... I'm sad we didn't get to see him there this year.

Does anyone remember the guys name who had the home made parallelogram mount with the Vixen 80mm binos on it? Is he a CN'er? He was setup just a little ways down from Clint. Clint called it the "Bauhaus" mount

Once again, CSPAMP was awesome! Looked through some great scopes and put my new one through its paces. Despite some Jeep trouble (now THERE'S a redundant phrase) at the very end, I'm back home in one sore, sunburned piece.
Details later, nap first...

Hi everyone, We all had a great time checking out each others scopes and just gabbing for three days. Great to see everyone again and meet new CN`ers. Had some nice views each night and awesome hikes each day. Thanks Clint for organizing another winner and thanks to Lee and Janice for great companionship and fantastic meals. Cheers, Dan

Hi Dan, I'll second that. It was another great CSPAMP! And it was fun doing your double star list with all the scopes in "refractor alley". I'm already looking forward to next year!
Say, did Lew Chilton ever show up? I had to leave on Saturday morning and missed seeing him.

My wife also woke up Saturday morning feeling very ill. Might have been the heat, or sun, or altitude from the day before. I missed you guys on Saturday night, but still had a great time Thurs/Fri. My most memorable view was from the guy with the 28" looking at the dumbell nebula with his Mallincam. Wow! That was so amazing I ordered one yesterday

Well when the dust settles and all is quite, out pops the (aveman!! Work has had me reeling this week, Our Crews are Installing New windows in the Mondrian Hotel in Hollyweird. They are turning the hotel over to us one floor per week and some of the 12 floor rooms rent for $5k per night so it is a little stressful! Been parking my truck at the House of blues Hollywood during the day and have run into a couple infamous players!! WOW CSPAMP V Holly Molly batman!! that was really a great weekend. Lee and Janis Decovnick (Da Bear) again came down and Lee brought his Bear Cave. The prettiest Cave on the Planet along with his new G11 and Mallin Cam Combo. We all got a real eyeful over the 3 day course of Telescopes, Friends, Hiking, Food and just a great time for a Classaholic looking for the yearly fix it was perfect. Star of the field was our Refractor Alley as shown in Roberts Photo!! Man that was a dream walk like none I have ever seen. Dans Unitron 160 started the lineup then his 6" F8 Astro Physics, Then to the left Roberts 7" Astro Physics on the Titan, Then to the Right some nuts 9" Astro Physics. Then Steve's 60mm Like F20 GOTO and his TAK 130. Johnny Hardwick and his TAK FS 152 popped in for an evening to fill in one of the holes in the refractor line up. As Johnny said his 21mm Ethos really did justice to M13 in the Pearl and is still stuck in my head, Great Eyepiece! Saturday night was awesome Ryan AKA JWaldo Dan and I spent quite some time dialing in the Pearl and Dans 6" on Uranus and I was able to pull out some detail on the blue ice-cube. Later in the evening Dan was splitting some unique triple star that really stuck in my head as a very gorgeous sky jewel. How can it get better than that? Consider we were completely surrounded by what seemed like a hundred other telescopes including right next to us our good Friend John Schwartz and his 28" F4.3 Steve Kennedy master Dob! To the Other side our friends at the Antelope Valley Astronomers came up for CSPAMP and covered the entire south end of the parking lot with great scopes and equipment. Then we get all the greats like Philo Jewett, Ed Grissom, John Sherman, Bob Burns and a raft of other local LA astronomy friends, it was wonderful. Well I have a few photos including one of a crazy bird you guts need to help me ID. I will try to get back and upload a few ASAP!! (aveman
